WHAT MAKES A SUPERSTAR BABYSITTER?
What makes a superstar babysitter? That’s a great question! We at Birdie Break are constantly asked this question so let’s explore 5 key items to check for when selecting a sitter.
5 Key Must Haves for a SuperStar Sitter:
Background Check - Anyone caring for your child should be professionally vetted with Police Checks along with social media checks.
2. Experience - How much credible experience does the sitter have? Casual or professional setting? Does your child have special needs? - make sure the sitter is qualified and experienced.
3. Personality Fit - Are your kids more gregarious or quieter? Do your children enjoy playing outdoors? Ensure your sitter can share in your child’s experiences and truly enjoy them—this will help form a lasting bond between your child and sitter.
4. Dependability - Do you require someone at the spur or the moment or do you have a set schedule? When searching for a sitter, set clear needs and expectations to avoid lapses in communication for dependability.
5. Extras - What is on your personal must have list? Do you also need someone to help with chores, potty training, or bedtime routines?
At Birdie Break we aim to source and provide your family with the very best babysitters in your market.

So, what makes a great sitter a super sitter? One that goes the extra mile and provides superior value to the parents and little one’s lives. While “All Birdie Sitters Do the Dishes” (a wonderful little extra our sitters provide (*1 sink load of dishes and only if time away from the little ones permits), a super sitter will be able to fulfill the role of the parent and be diligent in their efforts from the start to the end of their shift. This includes a warm initial greeting upon arrival, to a fun enjoyable time spent with the kids, to a tidy household at the end. Super sitters are creative with play, often bringing some fun new toys with them in their sitter bags, they’re imaginative, they’re attentive to all needs of the children (from diapers to meals) and they do it all with a smile on their face!
